Hydrogen aircraft could make up about 25 percent of the global fleet. Entry into service is expected in the late 2030s to early 2040s. The global fleet could grow to nearly 60,000 aircraft.

This first-of-its-kind program, which was outlined in President Trump’s Unleashing Drone Dominance Executive Order, is accelerating the safe integration of next-generation Advanced Air Mobility aircraft into the national airspace and ensuring the United States leads the way in aviation innovation.

SAE International, the global non-profit organization committed to advancing mobility knowledge and solutions for the benefit of humanity, has announced its 2025 class of SAE Fellows, which includes Mike Hirschberg, founder and principal of Hirschberg Heuristics Advisors, LLC. H2 Advisors provides strategic aviation insights to global clients in industry, academia, associations and government agencies.

This course gives leaders the literacy to navigate that system responsibly and effectively.”

Right now, the "front lines" of hydrogen aviation are found in the deployment of the long range drone. This is where the technology is currently operational and proving its worth. In this stage, operations are typically contained and highly controlled.
