ZeroAvia has released a new whitepaper titled "Scaling Hydrogen-Electric Propulsion for Large Aircraft," addressing a common question: when will jets like the ones we fly on all the time be running on hydrogen fuel?

At the heart of the whitepaper is this theme: if we are to make a significant positive change in aviation’s massive negative climate impact, we will need far-reaching solutions that strike at the bulk of flight emissions - those produced by large commercial jets such as narrowbody, single-aisle aircraft. This includes Airbus’ A220 through to the A320 class and Boeing’s B737 family.

In the whitepaper, ZeroAvia lays out the pathway to go from turboprops to regional jets to narrowbody aircraft. Readers are encouraged to download and review the whitepaper to understand the necessary steps and innovations required to scale hydrogen-electric propulsion for larger aircraft.

HYSKY Society is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit committed to decarbonizing aviation and aerospace with hydrogen. We welcome innovators from eVTOLs/advanced air mobility, fixed-wing aircraft, and spacecraft. Our mission is simple: if it defies gravity and uses hydrogen as fuel, it’s part of our vision for sustainable flight.
