Swiss-based Sirius Aviation is gearing up to revolutionize the business and cargo aviation markets with its two flagship hydrogen-powered jets—the CEO Jet and Adventure Jet. The company unveiled these aircraft at the MOVE Expo in London, boasting zero-emission electric vertical takeoff and landing (eVTOL) capabilities. Both jets are designed to cruise at 280 knots, offering unparalleled comfort and luxury for passengers. With a targeted certification and production date by 2028, Sirius aims to lead the future of sustainable aviation.
Sirius' founder and CEO, Alexey Popov, comes from a rich lineage of aviation research and development specialists and has cited hydrogen propulsion as the only viable path for long-range, sustainable flight, emphasizing its superiority over battery-powered alternatives. Sirius has tapped into this heritage by developing a hydrogen-electric powertrain to fuel the jets, utilizing liquid hydrogen stored in cryogenic tanks.
In collaboration with BMW’s Designworks, Sirius has ensured that the jets are as aesthetically innovative as they are technologically advanced. The company's use of in-house electric ducted fans also sets it apart from competitors, improving cruise efficiency and reducing noise levels.
Both the CEO Jet and Adventure Jet will offer customizable interiors and are set to be priced at $5.9 million and $8.9 million, respectively. Sirius plans to launch a shuttle network across the Americas, the European Union, and Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) countries.
