The world's first hydrogen-based synthetic aviation fuel (Green SAF) plant, developed by OXCCU, is set to begin operations next month at London’s Oxford Airport. This facility marks a significant milestone in the quest for sustainable aviation, as it is the first of its kind to produce synthetic aviation fuel using hydrogen.

The plant produces Green SAF by combining captured carbon dioxide with hydrogen derived from water through electrolysis. This process results in a clean, sustainable fuel that can be used in existing aircraft engines without modification, making it a viable alternative to traditional fossil fuels. The successful operation of this plant demonstrates the potential for synthetic fuels to play a key role in the future of aviation, offering a pathway to significantly lower emissions.

The launch of this facility at Oxford Airport is expected to accelerate the adoption of synthetic fuels in the aviation sector, helping to achieve global sustainability goals and reduce the industry's reliance on fossil fuels.
