As hydrogen takes flight, the industry must rethink certification, operations, and safety. At FLYING HY 2025, we’re excited to welcome Dr. Eva Maleviti, Assistant Professor and Program Coordinator in Aviation & Aerospace Sustainability at Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University, who will share insights into the certification and maintenance challenges of hydrogen-powered aviation.

Her talk will explore how existing aviation regulations intersect with hydrogen technologies and where new frameworks are needed. From adapting continuous airworthiness monitoring to rethinking MRO infrastructure and training, Dr. Maleviti will highlight the pathways toward safe, scalable hydrogen adoption.

What You’ll Learn at FLYING HY:

  • The certification gaps hydrogen introduces compared to conventional aviation fuel.

  • How continuous airworthiness requirements may evolve for hydrogen propulsion systems.

  • Why MRO facilities and personnel will need new training, infrastructure, and safety practices.

  • The importance of harmonized international standards for hydrogen aviation.
