LifeFlight has become AMSL Aero’s first development partner in New Zealand for the hydrogen-powered Vertiia aircraft, marking a significant milestone in the advancement of sustainable aviation technology. The collaboration aims to introduce zero-emission vertical takeoff and landing (VTOL) aircraft for medical and emergency services, enhancing LifeFlight’s capabilities with cutting-edge, hydrogen-powered technology.
The Vertiia aircraft, developed by Australian aerospace company AMSL Aero, is designed to operate on both electric and hydrogen fuel systems, providing flexible, sustainable aviation options. LifeFlight’s adoption of this technology is expected to enhance its ability to deliver emergency medical services with reduced environmental impact.
