Heart Aerospace has announced a groundbreaking partnership with Air Canada and Saab to develop a hydrogen-ready electric aircraft. The collaboration is aimed at advancing the design and production of sustainable regional aircraft that will help the aviation industry reduce its carbon footprint and achieve zero-emission flight.
Heart Aerospace, a Swedish electric aircraft manufacturer, is focused on creating the ES-30, a 30-passenger electric aircraft with the ability to integrate hydrogen propulsion in the future. This new partnership will see Air Canada and Saab provide technical expertise, operational insights, and funding to accelerate the development of these sustainable aviation solutions.
"This collaboration marks a significant milestone in the journey to zero-emission aviation," said Anders Forslund, CEO of Heart Aerospace. "By working with Air Canada and Saab, we are gaining critical support that will help make hydrogen-powered electric aircraft a reality."
The ES-30 is designed with the potential to operate on both electric and hydrogen power, providing flexibility and increased range, making it a leading contender in the effort to decarbonize regional air travel.
