According to Danielle McLean, the CEO and Founder of HYSKY Society, the shift from jet fuels to a more sustainable option is underway, with hydrogen emerging as the top zero-emission solution, generating only water vapor. The advancements in hydrogen aviation this year have been notable, supported by the FAA Reauthorization Act of 2024 and substantial investments from the IRA and Bipartisan Infrastructure Law. These investments are improving hydrogen refueling infrastructure and fostering the growth of air taxis and eVTOL technologies. This advancement is driving us towards cleaner skies, sustainable travel, and job creation, positioning the United States as a leader in the era of clean aviation.
FLYING HY 2024 will align with important legislative progress, including the 45V clean hydrogen production tax credit under the Inflation Reduction Act and the FAA Reauthorization Act of 2024. These measures aim to facilitate the certification of hydrogen-powered aircraft and enhance hydrogen infrastructure with the assistance of federal advisory committees and airport improvement programs.
