Ecojet, the world’s first hydrogen-electric airline, has announced its plans to procure 22 hydrogen-electric engines from ZeroAvia, marking a significant milestone in the transition to sustainable aviation. The partnership aims to accelerate the adoption of hydrogen-electric propulsion systems in commercial airliners, bringing zero-emission flights one step closer to reality.
ZeroAvia, a leader in hydrogen-electric propulsion technology, will supply its ZA2000 engines to Ecojet, enabling the airline to power its fleet with zero-carbon emission engines. The ZA2000 engine is designed for turboprop aircraft, providing the necessary range and power for regional flights. This procurement is part of Ecojet's broader strategy to become the first airline to operate entirely on hydrogen fuel.
Val Miftakhov, CEO of ZeroAvia, commented on the deal, saying, "Our partnership with Ecojet is a major step forward for the hydrogen-electric aviation industry. By deploying our engines in their fleet, we are helping to redefine the future of air travel with zero-emission technology."
Ecojet is set to begin operations in 2025, with hydrogen-electric aircraft expected to play a central role in its services. This collaboration positions both companies at the forefront of the aviation industry's green revolution.
